Community Health Fair

Come to a Community Health Fair on Saturday, August 24 at the Sherwood Recreation Center in Washington, DC! This free, health and wellness event is hosted by Capitol Hill SDA Church and focused on the health of you and your entire family. Bags of fresh fruit and vegetables that also contain healthy recipes will be given out during the Community Health Fair. 

Translators that speak Spanish and Portuguese will be onsite to assist those who need it.

There will be multiple health screenings for all ages. The free screenings and information exhibitors will include:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Vision
  • Dental
  • Hearing
  • Mental Health
  • Prostate
  • Substance Abuse
  • Fitness

There will also be snacks and fun giveaways including gift cards and other prizes. Come get screened at this event to stay in control of your health! Spread the word so we can help our community get healthy.

1. Do I need to pay or have insurance?

No, you do not have to pay to participate in the Health Fair. Also, you do not need insurance. The Community Health Fair is free for all. 

2. Will translators be onsite?
Yes, there will be translators at the Health Fair who speak Spanish and Portuguese.

3. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the Community Health Fair?
METRO RAIL
The nearest metro stop is Union Station (Red Line). Another option is the Potomac Avenue or Eastern Market stations (Blue/Orange Line).
METRO BUS
The closest buses are the X2 and the X9.
PARKING
Although there is no parking lot, there is free, residential parking in the neighborhood.
