Prayer Walk in the Community

Prayer Walk in the Community
September 12
2:30 PM to 4:00 PM

Join us for a special afternoon of prayer, presence, and kindness in our Capitol Hill community. On September 12 at 2:30 pm after Sabbath lunch, we will gather at the front of the church wearing our navy Capitol Hill “Where Kindness Is Intentional” t-shirts. After a brief time of prayer and instruction, we will divide into small groups and walk the blocks surrounding our church. Each group will be assigned an area where we will prayerfully walk the neighborhood, stopping to pray for the homes and families on each block. As we meet community members, we will greet them warmly, offer encouragement, and ask if there is anything we can pray about with them. This is not about knocking on doors or asking anything from our neighbors. It is simply an opportunity to cover our community in prayer, show kindness, and remind the people around our church that they are seen and cared for. Come ready to walk, pray, smile, and be a visible expression of God’s love in our neighborhood. The Prayer Ministry encourages us to take prayer beyond the walls of the church and into the community we are called to serve.
